Lucia Gradinariu

With over 20 years of experience in Information and Communication Technologies R&D, product management, operations, and business development areas, Lucia Gradinariu is recognized as thought leader and subject expert matter on Service Delivery Platforms and Frameworks, Business Service Management, next generation of SOA based OSS/BSS and eTOM/ITIL alignment. She has technical contributions in the areas of communications over IP, high availability platforms based on database and J2EE application server technologies, design and operations of large scale Internet services, architecture and implementations of platforms, and management solutions for next generation of telecom services.

Most recently Lucia was a Sr. Director for CA's Industry Programs – an organization responsible for generating over $100 million in new contract revenue annually. For more than 2 years Lucia led CA’s efforts in defining and building its Service Provider business. In her role, Lucia identified and brought to market Service Provider industry solutions to enable business development and sales and worked to align CA’s product roadmaps with areas of market demand, industry standards, and best practices.

Lucia spent 8 years with Oracle Corp. in several senior positions, from implementing new lines of business for bolstering revenue with new delivery models such as OnLine DBA - generating over $10 mill/year, to advising the senior executive team and creating Oracle’s strategy to capitalize on the opportunity of new generation telecom platforms and services, culminating in over $500mil in acquisitions and revenues of over $100mil/year from the new offerings. She successfully managed large reference customer projects and partner engagements in Western Europe and Middle East, Asia, Latin America, US, and Canada.

Lucia has also worked over 5 years leading and implementing multi-vendor projects that leveraged million dollars investments in new technologies to create and manage high speed Internet access to multimedia services across French research and academic institutions.

Guest speaker at many SDP events and conferences and active member of TeleManagement Forum, Lucia also contributes to technical specifications, industry catalyst solutions, and is an invited SME to OASIS SOA for Telecom Technical Committee.

An Honors Electrical Engineering Graduate, Lucia has a MS degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Technical University of Iasi, Romania and a MS and PhD in Computer Sciences from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, France. In her spare time, she teaches Master Degree classes in Computer Science, advises college students on career paths in technology professions, studies basics of financials and investment banking, organizations psychology, and management and enjoys traveling, skiing, and mountain biking.
