Dick Goulet joined NextGen Marketing Group™ in early 2008, after more than 28 years of senior experience in a variety of departmental assignments including: Marketing, Product Management, Business Development, Operations, Customer Service, Human Resources and Relationship Management with AT&T, Sprint and Charles Schwab. Prior to his business career, Mr. Goulet served for six years as a Naval Officer, completing his service as head of Enlisted Navy Recruiting for the State of Michigan. In this role, he was responsible for the creation of the Navy‚Äôs first Marketing Plan designed to implement the All-Volunteer concept.
Mr. Goulet possesses a unique background in both line and staff positions, transitioning easily from leading large service organizations, in both bargaining unit and non-union environments, to working closely with top executives to develop and implement corporate strategies and business plans.
Before joining Sprint’s Local Telephone Division, Dick was part of AT&T’s Management Development Program and spent six years in a variety of high-exposure assignments that provided invaluable experience to understand the relationships between various corporate departments that must be aligned and work together to attain personal and corporate objectives. Traditional conflicts between Sales and Marketing, IT and Finance, personal vs. corporate agendas and the challenge of managing today’s changing workforce are all areas that Mr. Goulet has experienced and has presented his perspective to groups as diverse as the Competitive Telecommunications Industry Association, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Alaska Airlines executives, as well as being in demand to motivate many of Sprint’s internal All-Hands meetings throughout the country .
While at Sprint, Dick was able to perform in all three of Sprint’s Divisions: Local, Long Distance and Wireless. As Director of Sprint’s toll-free services, he led the effort to accelerate the FCC’s mandate for toll-free number portability by several years. For sprint, this was the biggest growth opportunity since the era of Equal Access and resulted in revenue growth of over a half-billion dollars in his four-year tenure in that position. His last position at Sprint was as Senior Director for Affiliate Relations, managing five of the seventeen Affiliates formed to accelerate Sprint’s build-out of its PCS network. Since leaving Sprint, Dick has consulted for a wireless provider in Austin, Texas.
Dick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a specialization in Marketing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He and his wife, Maria, have two early-teenage daughters and enjoy golfing, boating and anything outdoors in the Central Texas weather.
